Namgyal Monastery - It is a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists and is also a popular tourist attraction. Gate to the Dalai Lama's residence & and a center for Tibetan ritual practice. Kala Chakra (Wheel of Time) & Tsuglagkhang Temple (Seat of Happiness) are the two temples located inside the monastery.
Kora (Prayer Walk) - Circumambulation of the Dalai Lama's house located at the top of the hill. Kora is a sacred prayer walk in Tibetan Buddhism and Bon Tradition. It involves walking clockwise around a holy site - such as a temple, stupa, monastery, mountain, or lake as a form of pilgrimage, meditation, and devotion. This practice generates spiritual merit, purifies negative karma, and cultivates compassion and enlightenment. Pilgrims often enhance the kora by: Spinning prayer wheels (which contain rolled mantras), Chanting mantras (commonly "Om Mani Padme Hum"), Counting rosary beads (mala) or even full-body prostrations along the path.
Naddi View Point - It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar Range (Western Himalaya). The tranquil surroundings and lush greenery make it a perfect spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
St. John Church in the Wilderness - Built in 1852. A neo-Gothic Anglican church set in tranquil forest surroundings.
Norbulingka Institute - Established in 1995 to preserve the traditional Tibetan art. Institute ground plan was designed by the Japanese architect, based on the proportions of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrizig), the deity of compassion. Workshops, Dolls Museum, Deden Tsuglagkhang Temple & Norling shop are the main attraction.
Gyuto Tantrik Monastry - The Gyuto Monastery is one of the most famous monasteries and specializes in the study of Tantric meditation, Tantric ritual arts, and Buddhist philosophy. It is the abode of Karmapa - King of all lamas, also, the Head of Kagyu Tibetan Buddhism. Karmapa means the one who carries out Buddha activity or the embodiment of all the activities of the Buddha.
